This 20-page pattern booklet is a newly-published edition of the original 1977 fold-out poster. The Bethany Dress is a traditional Palestinian wedding dress with elaborately embroidered bodice panel (called Qabbeh). The booklet includes complete color-coded cutting diagrams, traditional embellishment instructions and embroidery stitch directions, a full-size bodice embroidery design, plus updated supply resources. There are no actual pattern pieces, but because the dress is "assembled" like a quilt from straight-sided strips, it is very easy to follow the cutting diagrams and to adjust for individual sizes. Suggested fabrics: This dress is traditionally made from strips of medium-weight silk in red and green, with a strip of yellow on the sleeve and a striped shoulder yoke (usually red and gold).
