Fabric Suggestions for 223 A Lady's Chemise

Today, I am providing fabric suggestions for 223 A Lady's Chemise - one of our patterns-of-the-month.  This pattern is on sale all month!  Below are some fabrics that will work well for this pattern, and are from fabric stores that we trust to provide high quality fabric and good customer service (and they carry our patterns, so we know them!).

For the 223 A Lady's Chemise, we recommend lightweight cotton, linen, silk, or even rayon.  Originally, the garment would have been made with lawn or muslin.

A batiste would make a lovely and authentic-to-the-era garment, and this one from Vogue Fabrics is perfect (and inexpensive!):

This Liberty of London Tana lawn from Bolt Fabric would make a beautiful gown, that could be worn as a summer dress!

This grey voile from Michael Levine fabrics would make a striking chemise (also lots of other colors too):

Elfriede's Fine Fabrics has a couple of fine handkerchief linens that would be prefect for this chemise, like this pale blue one.  They also have a beautiful eyelet trim that would work for the sleeves and neckline, if using.

Harts Fabric has some beautiful rayon challis and voile, like this one in mint green, that would work perfectly for this pattern:

Also, a perfect fabric for this pattern would be the organic, naturally-dyed (and authentic to the time period) voile from Botanica Tinctoria.  There are lots of colors, too!
