This simple, fully-lined jacket is the perfect piece - no matter the season.  The sewing pattern features a roomy fit, simple open front design, and built-on sleeves to create a lovely jacket that can be made with many different fabrics. The design features a back seam and side seams, patch pockets, and bound sleeve openings. Because this jacket form is so simple, it makes a perfect canvas for creativity. Show off your quilting, applique, fabric painting, or embroidery skills. Try hand painting or dyeing techniques. Use coordinating or unique combinations of fabric for outer layer and lining, the possibilities are endless. This is also an easy project to make a reversible jacket.

Suggested fabrics:  For Outer Layer: Mid-weight fabric such as cotton, linen, silk, wool, or a sturdy knit. Heavier-weight fabric such as wool, denim, or light-weight canvas.  For Lining: Light to midweight fabric such as above. Lining should be the same weight, or lighter weight, than outer layer.
