The tango craze swept the country in the 1920s, and the exotic dance required fashions that dipped and swayed with the music. Our pattern for this dramatic fashion has an optional shaped back hemline and draped scarf for sensuous movement. This pattern also has a knitting pattern for a cardigan to wear to add a layer when needed. While this pattern hearkens back to the 1920's, Tango dancing is still alive and well internationally!
Suggested fabrics: Lightweight fabrics with drape, such as silk or polyester satin, charmeuse, crepe, challis, lightweight linen or cotton.
PLEASE NOTE: These suggested fabrics are based on fabrics that are in stock at the time the blog post is written, and may go out of stock from store at some point. If link is invalid for specific product, look for a similar fabric that you can substitute.
This mid-weight linen with a little rayon in it, gives a wonderful drape to the fabric. From Oak Fabrics - and I think the color is elegant, but there are a few other colors as well!
