Extra Small to 3X Large.
This 16th-century Spanish colonial style has survived through the centuries in central and northern Mexico as a blouse. It emerged as a popular dress in the USA in the mid to late 20th century. This traditional garment was - and still is - a colorful, practical, and comfortable garment to wear.
This sewing pattern is quick and easy to make, with just four pattern pieces. Make it as a below-knee dress or a top-of-the-thigh blouse, then fancy it up with the embroidery stitches on your sewing machine, or with other fun and colorful decoration.
Suggested fabrics: Woven cottons and cotton blends, such as muslin, shirting, batiste and voile (for breezy, airy summer looks), damask, chambray, lightweight denim; rayons; lightweight linen and linen blends; silks and silk blends.
Note: This pattern does NOT include embroidery patterns or motifs. If you would like to purchase an embroidery pattern to go with this pattern, we have one available here.
