Apron sizes SM-LG; Child's 2-10

English cottage kitchens in the Victorian era combined the technology of the industrial revolution with the latest frivolities popularized by ladies’ homemaking magazines.

Sewing patterns for a treasury of kitchen linens, quilted tea cozy, biscuit cozy, egg cozy, placemats, oven mitttablecloth, and a Victorian-style apron are preserved by Folkwear in this Pattern, along with information for making a vintage floor cloth.

Optional embellishments for these delightful kitchen items include cross-stitch embroidery, quilting, and tatted lace edging. Stencil designs and instructions are included for use on all kitchen items and for wall or floor decoration. All the designs are interchangeable and coordinated.

Our pretty ruffled Pinafore or Apron for women (sizes SM-LG) and girls (sizes 2- 10) epitomizes fanciful Victorian taste and charm. Front and skirt gather into a waistband; wide ruffles are gathered into shoulder straps which cross in back and button at the waist. The Pinafore may be made as an apron, finished with a sash; Pinafore skirt has buttoned back opening.

Suggested fabrics:  Kitchen Items: Soft, absorbent, washable fabrics such as cotton or linen. Biscuit cozy requires firm fabric with body. Pinafore/Apron: Lightweight cottons or blends such as batiste, voile, eyelet, or organdy; lightweight silks or rayon.
