Aprons are a great way to protect your clothing while adding a bit of charming old-world style. This apron design was one Cynthia (long time Folkwear fan and employee) made from one her grandmother made and wore.  Her grandmother drafted the pattern, offered in a 1900’s woman’s magazine that was borrowed from her mother. This pattern was such a useful favorite that she continued to make and wear it her entire life. Cynthia hardly remembers her not wearing some version of it no matter what she was doing.  This version extends this original pattern to children's sizes.

This apron will make any task a bit more charming. This apron is designed with built in straps that cross over in the back and button at the bib for easy access while providing full coverage. The pocket on the bib is the perfect place to store small items. Simply adjust the stitching to accommodate any object you need to keep handy. The two oversized patch pockets can be made with her grandmother’s own addition, a “tissue” pocket. The usefulness of this little pocket needs no explanation, but it is also a great place to store away tiny items for small hands. The deep patch pockets allow for the perfect place to keep all kinds of things handy as you go about the day’s tasks.

Suggested Fabrics:  Any light to mid-weight woven fabric such as cotton and linen. Quilting cotton is a good choice as well.
