This traditional dress worn by women in Afghanistan is ideal for mixing fabrics and embellishments. This dress pattern has an extremely full skirt and sleeve. The raised bodice is fitted and connects to skirt by the front waist band and underarm gussets. The skirt is gathered by a double line of even stitches, forming tiny, unpressed pleats. The back of the skirt has two tiers and fabric can be mixed or one kind. There are three optional bodice embroidery treatments in the pattern, using chain stitch, mirror cloth, and satin stitch which are all authentic detailing.
Purely heaven! I made this pattern years and years ago and one for our daughter. She wore hers until she outgrew it and now she wears the one I made for myself. The pattern is lovely and so very feminine.
I made this cloak for my daughter, who has been looking for dress-ups that fit her as she gets older. This pattern has far exceeded our expectations!
Easy to follow and very cute. This was my first time making a dirndl and the pattern was very easy to follow! I loved how they added specific how to’s for changing the waist or bust measurements and fit it to your body.
