Misses Extra Small to Extra Large.

This easy-sew ensemble of flowing Tunic over wide-legged pants is firmly associated with the Southeast Asian country of Vietnam. Constructed by Vietnamese intellectuals in the 20th century in response to global and local influences and events, the áo dài has become universally recognized as the Vietnamese national costume.

The Tunic features front and back waist shaping darts, mandarin collar, front neckline/armhole opening, tapered long sleeves, and long free-hanging front and back panels. There is an option for an authentic raglan sleeve without darts, and an option with a fitted shoulder cap seam and elbow darts. The Pants have an easy full-legged fit, left side zipper, and faced waistline for a clean, smooth fit.

Suggested fabrics: Lightweight, drapey fabrics such as silk, polyester, or cotton gauze for Tunic and/or Pants; also embroidered brocade for Tunic. Ao Dai pants are typically white for younger women while older women tend toward black; the Tunic can be plain white, a plain or patterned color, or the traditional red and gold for a wedding garment.
