105 Syrian Dress

Misses 6-18.

For crossing the deserts of Africa or the urban landscape, this flowing dress is a perfect canvas for needlework or fabric artistry. Typical of Syrian dresses, this garment falls gracefully to the ankles from a large square yoke that forms a triangular effect on the front, back and sleeves. The sleeves are tapered and cuffed.  The dress has side panels, underarm gussets, slit-pockets, and a narrow stand-up collar.

Pattern includes instructions for two optional embroidery designs that can be done by machine or hand.  Other optional motifs for side panels, sleeves, and seams are included.  For an"easy sew" you can also cut pieces using contrasting fabrics.

Suggested fabrics: Crisp or soft fabrics such as lightweight denim, broadcloth, cotton, linen, lightweight wool. Traditional colors are black, blue, white, or red.
