Washout Tumbling Blocks Sashiko

This unique fabric features fans and blocks with traditional sashiko motifs.  Embroider any part of the fabric with sashiko stitches, and any sashiko area that is not embroidered will wash away to leave a navy blue solid fabric.  The pre-stencilled fabric eliminates the need to mark the fabric before starting to sashiko stitch. All the pre-stencilled markings wash off in tepid water when complete and each panel comes with a stitching guide and tips. The panels are printed on 100% cotton indigo fabric. DO NOT prewash before stitching.

Base fabric is a smooth, medium-weight navy blue broadcloth and is 46" wide.

This navy fabric is perfect for home sewing projects, like just about anything in our 305 A Japanese Interior, but also perfect for making a kimono (113 Japanese Kimono) or 129 Japanese Hapi and Haori, or 112 Japanese Field Clothing. Or adding panels to any of these.

Add sashiko thread and needles to complete your project.

Fabric is sold by the 1/2 yard (so one unit equals 1/2 yard, 2 units equal 1 yard, etc.).  All yardage is cut as a continuous piece.
